Living in the UK
If you are an individual with high business acumen intent on living in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) and wanting a faster access to a UK permanent residency, a UK Tier 1 Investor Visa may check off all your needs!
UK Business Visa
The UK Tier 1 Investor Visa will afford you the opportunity to live in one of the most multicultural and safest regions in the world.
Applicants will also be able to include their dependents – both spouse and children – into their application, allowing their dependents to both works and study anywhere in the UK, access the UK healthcare system, and be afforded global mobility and security of a UK visa on their passport.
How to apply to UK Investor Visa Tier 1?
To apply for the UK Tier 1 Investor Visa, applicants must make an investment of at least GBP 2 million by share capital or loan capital in active and trading UK registered companies, which may be through qualifying managed investment funds. The investment funds must not be used outside the UK and must have been held in a recognized financial institution for at least 2 years before their application to the Tier 1 Visa. The investment funds also may not include any loans (e.g. loans against assets) unless held for at least 2 years.
Advantage of Tier 1 Visa
A significant advantage to the Tier 1 Visa is the ability to choose who is the main applicant making the investment. If the applicant is able to prove that the money belongs to the applicant or their spouse (or common-law partner), that is permitted. Applicants may also receive any income, such as interest or dividend payments, generated from their portfolio. Applicants may also sell their investment and purchase another qualifying investment within six months, or until the end of the next reporting period, whichever is sooner.
Once approved, a UK Tier 1 Investor Visa is valid up to 3 years. After this time, applicants and their dependents may also apply to extend this visa for another 2 years, provided they maintain the necessary investment and residency requirements.
Alternatively, applicants can apply for UK permanent residency, known as Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 2 years if the applicant invests GBP 10 Million; 3 years if the applicant invests GBP 5 Million; or 5 years if the applicant invests GBP 2 Million, and also meet the residency requirements of spending at least 50% of the time in a year in the UK.
A great option
Ultimately, the UK Tier 1 Investor Visa is a great option for high-net-worth individuals who are intent on investing in the UK. As a distinguished G8 member with clear connections to the European Union and a highly sought-after standard of living, the UK is a clear choice for individuals wishing to expand their business networks and set up a stable life for their dependents.
